Social Media Critics

Social Media is fun, but i've noticed something...People take it way too far sometimes.

This is a random post but something that's been on my mind for awhile. Social Media,  has now become a place where people voice their opinions loud and proud. I'm not saying that it's a problem because everyone has  a right to do whatever they want to do with their platforms, but my mind starts to wonder about people and their mindsets. Why they feel the need to be so critical about people they know nothing about and say the meanest and cruelest things. What does it do for them? What kind of satisfaction do they get by saying such horrible things, knowing while at the end of the day it does nothing for them, does not further them or make them into a better person. Yeah, you might gain followers, because it seems like negativity connects most people nowadays. Seeing these people, makes me sad for them honestly.  I can't imagine what their life was/is like, to make them spew out such anger and negativity on people they don't know. Whether it be celebrities or youtubers or some one random. Again let me state, i'm not saying it's wrong to criticize or speak up if you think something is wrong, because lets be honest social media is never that serious and I will definitely speak up about whatever I want, but to me if 90% of your account is about nonsense or you spreading nasty stuff about other people, then I definitely encourage you to do some soul-searching. I'm a huge believer in the fact that what you put out in the world is what you are going to get back. Hurting others, or saying hurtful things does more to yourself than it does to the other person. Im sure the people reading this post are ones that don't create or spread madness or pointless hate, but this is just a thought i'm sending out to the universe, so maybe it will hit someone somewhere.Do you agree with me? Tell me about it NICELY in the comments haha!

Favorite Apps!

Happy Monday!

I'm addicted to my cellphone and iPad, whether that's a good thing or not(it's not. I'm always on my phone, especially when I have free time on my hands. Being an techie I love playing with technology and learning new things about it, so today I'm telling you my Favorite apps for the iPhone/ iPad. Even though most, if not all of these apps can be found on android devices as well!

  • News app - this app actually comes on the iPhone now, and it's a way to keep up with what's going on in the world. I won't lie I don't actually watch the news or read the newspaper as much as I should, but the great thing about the news app is that you can customize it to show the topics you want to read about, from celebrity gossip to the elections.
  • Afterlight/ VSCO - these are two photo editing apps, if you want to know how to make your photos 10x better on instagram than get one or both of these apps! These are very popular apps and deserve all the hype!
  • Hay Day - i've been obsessed with this game for so long now! I never caught on to the FarmVille hype on Facebook years ago, but I get it now. Hay Day is a farming game that is so addicting and if you like games like FarmVille, check out Hay Day!
  • Piano Tiles 2 - possibly the most frustrating game i've ever played but also most addicting. I heard about this game through ijustine. It reminds me of Tap Tap Revenge, who remembers that game??? I'm stuck at the song Tritsch Trastsch Polka right now, and if I don't beat it soon, i might throw my phone at a wall :(
  • Buzzfeed- I love this app for one thing, and one thing only and thats the quizzes. Buzzfeed quizzes are so pointless but entertaining. It's a great thing to do in times of boredom
  • Social Media - How can I do a post about apps without talking about social media and where to find me on them? haha. Of course i'm on twitter, follow me here! and Instagram, follow me here! Tumblr and Goodreads. All of these places is where you can find me and learn extra stuff about me that you don't have to know but you know you want to ;)
What are your favorite apps? Let me know in the comments! I love hearing from you guys!

My Favorite Dish!

I love Soul Food!

Being a child of the south, how can you not? Growing up, and still to this day every sunday with a soulful dinner is one of the best things ever! My favorite thing to eat? Macaroni and Cheese! Also my favorite thing to make (maybe because its the only thing I know how to make ;)). My recipe is based off of Paula Deen's recipe that I will link here, but I put a few of my own touches into it as well. Now this is NOT HEALTHY, it's probably the worst type of macaroni and cheese for you health wise, BUT when I say the taste is AMAZING!!! I have it about 2-3  times a year, so use it sparingly, but if you need a pick me up, or some real soulful food, I highly urge you to try it out. It won't disappoint!

Recipe

4 cups cooked elbow macaroni, drained
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
1 cup of grated monterey jack
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sour cream
4 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 cup of pet milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Once you have the macaroni cooked and drained, place in a large bowl and while still hot and add the cheddar. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and add to the macaroni mixture. Pour macaroni mixture into a casserole dish and bake for 30 to 45 minutes. Top with additional cheese if desired.

February Favorites

Another month is down...

Hopefully februrary was good to you, now it's time for march! I didn't discover too many new products this month but i'm loving a few things that i'm gonna share with you for my favorites.

  1. My "Moisturization" routine - It's cold outside, which means I have to keep my hair in tip-top shape! right now I'm loving my routine of moisturizing my hair with the hawaiian silky 14 in 1 Miracle Worker and sealing it off with coconut oil! look out for a review on the Hawaiian silky moisturizer soon!
  2. Glam Planner- As you know I got an Erin Condren Life Planner, and I love it. One of my favorite things is decorating the weeks with stickers and wash tape. My favorite store of the moment is Glam Planner, owned by Elle fowler from youtube. I like how her kits cover the whole spread and leave no whitespace and it's such good quality!
  3. Person of Interest - I had heard about the show a long time ago because Taraji P. Henson was staring in it. But never checked into it myself. They have four seasons on netflix and I decided to check it out and it's so good! It's a show about a guy who created this machine to find terrorists before the commit attacks, but the problem is, it sees all potential crimes and has to sort relevant crimes ( terrorist attacks ) from irrelevant crimes(murder, rape, etc)  and to live with himself he tag teams with this ex-fbi agent to help solve irrelevant crimes to protect people. It's a good show, check it out.
  4. Call the Midwife - another show on netflix, and this is a british show. It's set in the 50's and it's about Midwives and their stories. All I can say is check it out, it's a pretty good show!
What were your favorites of the month? tell me in the comments!
