Being Positive!

I've been learning a lot about myself for the past couple of years, more like since i've graduated from high school. A lot of people hate their high school years, but i'm one of the ones who enjoyed it. Afterwards is another story though. When I graduated high school, I went to college and struggled and then to add on to the problem my dad suffered a brain aneurysm and almost died. It was a very stressful time, and to be honest it's still stressful. But one thing that i've learned overtime is to change the way I think. For so long, every thought I had was a negative one, thinking of negative outcomes, and expecting the worse. I thought that way because if I expected the worst then my disappointment wouldn't be as bad as if I expected the best. And if there was a better outcome then it would be a pleasant surprise, but that thought process is so flawed. I don't want to get too preachy, but my faith is a big part of who I am, the biggest part of who I am in all actuality. Not having faith in god and trusting in him, is a huge slap in the face to him. And really, its not believing in him at all. Even if you don't believe in what I believe, It's never good to put those negative thoughts into the world. Your thoughts and the way you speak are SO important! What you put out in the world is what you'll get back in return. If you haven't watched "The Secret" documentary on Netflix, I highly urge you to watch it. Whether you are a person of faith or not, it has such great information!
I'm not going to lie to you, sometimes it gets hard. Even now, there are moments when i'm weak and i'm not feeling it. But faith and being positive is like muscles, you have to work it out to get stronger. I urge you guys to just change your mindset! I'm doing it, and i'm already reaping the benefits!

Erin Condren Life Planner!

Okay guys, I have something to admit.....

I have become obsessed with the planning community... aka glam planning.. I don't know how this all started, probably lurking on youtube or whatnot. But however it started I jumped in 100% this year. I wanted the Erin Condren planner for so long, but never got it because the price is steep, real steep. The base price for an Erin Condren life planner is $50. If you find yourself getting into glam planning, which is probably the reason why most get this planner then it might be worth it, because hey! you'll be using it all year.

I got the vertical layout planner, and this is my first time having a planner that wasn't in, what I call the "big paragraph" format. Basic planners have the date and a bunch of lines beside it to write all you have to do for the day, and I've NEVER liked that format. I've adjusted to the vertical layout very quickly and as for right now I don't see myself switching back. I love how the planner is big and girly and it's pretty by itself if for some reason you aren't into the stickers..but if you aren't then what kind of person are you???

Overall I love this planner, I love the customization aspect. I love how girly and fun it is. Did I mention how much I love to buy stickers? Etsy is now one of my favorite stores. Should you get one? I would say think about it. Give it some time lol because I would hate for someone to spend money on something and totally hate it. But if you can afford it and it looks fun (which it is) then go for it! I absolutely love mine! Click here to purchase one of the planners. If you have one tell me about it, and what are your favorite stores on easy to buy stickers!

Ipad Mini Review!

I'm in love with it....

Point blank period. I never thought that I had a reason to purchase an iPad but last year I realized that I wanted to start reading more. One thing I enjoyed a lot several years ago, was reading on my kindle, I had the second generation kindle and I loved it, until one day I dropped it and the screen cracked on the inside :( So me being an Apple product junkie, I decided to cave and get an iPad Mini 4. Let me tell you, I absolutely love this thing!

I have a laptop and a phone but i'm on my iPad more than either of the other devices. I watch youtube and netflix on it, I put all the apps on it that I don't need on my phone so I can free up some space. I can answer my phone calls on it, and text. Also, the split screen feature on the iPad is SO handy!  So I don't regret this at all, and I highly suggest, if you've been wrestling with getting one, then do it!

Essie Grow Stronger Nail Base

I have this thing with my nails, especially my thumb and index fingernails where they split on the sides. It's annoying because it splits right on the "quickline" (i'm not sure if that's the official name of the part of the nail, but it splits right where the quick starts). I'm currently trying to grow out my nails to be stronger and longer but when your nails always break at a certain length, it can get really challenging.

I decided to try out a nail growth base polish to see if it would help my problem, so I decided to get the Essie GrowStronger Nail Base. I've tried it out multiple times, by itself and with another nail polish color on top. I have some Pros and Cons, as far as cons, my nails are still splitting. Not as much as it used to but my left thumbnail is currently split as I type this post. But, there is hope, i've
noticed my nails are feeling so much stronger. So hopefully as time goes on the problem will go away completely! I've only noticed one split and that's the one on my thumb right now! So fingers crossed it'll go away completely. As far as it making my nail polish stay on longer, meh... it's okay. I would say it lasts just as long as any other basic base nail polish would. I'll give another update later on!

Milly Miles Update!

The love of my life is growing and so quickly!

If you didn't know, I adopted a kitten last summer and his name is Milo! He's a big ball of energy and it's so much fun having him around. Everytime someone comes over, they tell me he's more like a dog than a cat. It's come to the point where my friends want me to get a leash to walk him. I will admit I am one of those crazy cat owners but I don't think i'm going to get to the point where I stalk walking my cat on a leash.

Milo is 8 months old, I'm thinking about switching up his feeding times from three times a day to two. But Milo has so much energy and he's always running around, i'm not sure he's ready for that change. Milo's best friend's name is Mabel, she's a doll that I got when I first adopted Milo because he was suffering from separation anxiety. Milo has gotten so attached to Mabel and it's seriously the cutest thing EVER!

Milo is such an amazing addition to my life, and even though I don't appreciate the biting that he still does from time to time, I couldn't imagine this life without him.

New Year! New M.....

It's a new year and it's always fun to make new resolutions. As much as we know we don't usually  stick to them (at least if you're being honest with yourself lol) it's always fun to do. I do them every year and even though I might not stick to them, I do see myself always working on them throughout the year for the most part. Everyone always has good intentions when setting out their resolutions for the new year but i'm challenging everyone to at least have them in the back of your mind and even if you take a break for awhile, get back on it!

So here are some of my resolutions for 2K16:

  1. Be more consistent - probably the thing i'm working on the most this year, I find myself starting and stopping something I start almost 85% of the time, I have got to work on that. Especially with blogging, I'm not going to lie, sometimes I have brain farts, and I just don't know what to write, but I'm going to be more consistent with blogging and anything I start this year.
  2. Be more positive - I didn't have a problem with this last year, but i'm just going to continue to be a positive, uplifting person in 2015
  3. Be more active - Life of a homebody, I was at home a lot in 2015 so this year I want to be more active. If I could be outside more and just out and about, I believe that would do wonders for me.
  4. Be healthier - this is one that I have the best intentions for, but will be the most challenging. This is one of my resolutions every year, and it fails every year :( but it'll be different in 2016, i'm already claiming it!

Tell me what your resolutions are in the comments below! Let's make 2016 the best year yet!

Reading Challenge 2k16!

When I was younger I used to read ALL the time, nowadays it seems like i'm always on the internet and i'm trying to unplug from more this year. I've recently got an iPad mini (review will come eventually but right now i'm iPad-less, i will have to repurchase another one because the first one I got was broken :/) But regardless the show must go on, and I have some physical books to finish. I will also start posting reviews of the books i've read! So this year I have so many books that I want to read I have a list of 20 books that I would like to read, I won't get through all of them this year, but I would like to make a big dent in this list. Here is a link to my goodreads account if you want to follow me on there, I'll also be giving updates there from time to time.

I'm currently readying two books:
  • Live Love Lead - Brian Houston
  • Redeeming Love - Francine Rivers
    • this book is on hold for a bit
  • How to Win Friends and Influence People - Dale Carnegie

Some of the books that I want to read this year are:

  • The Five Love Languages - Gary Chapman
  • The Life- Changing Magic of Tidying Up - Marie Kondō
  • Year of Yes - Shonda Rhimes
  • Passenger - Alexandra Bracen
  • Crazy Love - Francis Chan
  • One Thousand Gifts - Ann Voskamp

If you want to see other books that i'm planning to read this year go and check out my goodreads account! I'm always up for new book suggestions so tell me what you're reading/ planning to read in 2016!

2015 Favorites!

So it's finally 2016, and it's going to be a great, fantastic year! I'm already claiming it for all of us! But before we hop into the year full force, I wanted to look back at all my favorites from 2015 and what I really enjoyed!

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is was so clutch for me this year. If you are trying to find products that are good for your hair, I absolutely think you should start with coconut oil. You can use it many different ways for many different types of hair. Plus, it's a multi-use product! Another thing people use it for is oil pulling, coating your pans with before you cook, and make up removing. So definitely check it out, if somehow you already haven't.

Make Up Forever Step 1 Primer Mattifying primer/ Maybelline Fit Me Matte

I'm putting these together because they are my favorite makeup base products. I'll be honest I'm not 100% in love with the primer, BUT my makeup applies a lot better with this primer, it looks better and it does last longer. So all in all it's a really good primer and the best one i've tried so far. The Fit Me Matte foundation was my favorite foundation of the year. It lasts pretty much all day and I loved the coverage. It applies it so smoothly and I used it religiously in 2015.

Liquid Lipsticks

Y'all... when I say I loved liquid lipsticks last year that's the understatement of the century. I am obsessed with them. They are so much fun and I love how they look. It's made me become more experimental with lip colors and even though I made the decision to not spend as much money on makeup this year as I did last year, I'll probably be spending a lot of money on more lipsticks...sigh..i'm that addicted to them haha. My favorite shades are from Colourpop in Tulle, and Anastasia Beverly Hills in Heathers.

Polaroid Camera

Another fun thing you should get, if you haven't gotten one already is a polaroid camera. It's such a fun way to take pictures. It can get expensive, seeing that film is a $1.00 per sheet practically. But it's my favorite way to take pictures and have them in physical form.

Journaling

Out of all the things that i've talked about, I would have to say that every reader that finds this post should try journaling. I've found journaling to be such a stress reliever for me. I was watching a buzzfeed video of them trying to journal and I can sympathize with them, because there were moments when I wasn't feeling it and when I didn't know what to write. I don't journal every day but I journal when I have this strong urge to. I plan to journal a lot more in 2016 and it's so fun to know that I can look back on certain days and see what was going on and where I was in life.

So here are my 2015 favorites! Let me know what your favorites of 2015 were in the comments!
